Our Vision

Striving towards better health and wellbeing of marginalized and hard-to-reach sections of populations

Our Mission

We are devoted to collaborating with the partners to ensure access to quality healthcare and education for underserved communities, fostering healthier and more empowered individuals

Our Programs

Transformative initiatives focused on improving health, education, and community well-being, designed to create lasting impact and empower underserved populations
No Hunger
End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030. The triple burden of malnutrition – undernutrition, hidden hunger and overweight – threatens the survival, growth and development of children and young people
Good Health and Well being
Aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all, at all ages. Health and well-being are important at every stage of one’s life, starting from the beginning. This goal addresses all major health priorities: reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health; communicable and non-communicable diseases; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines.
Quality Education
Aims at ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. This goal ensures that all girls and boys complete free primary and secondary schooling by 2030. It also aims to provide equal access to affordable vocational training, to eliminate gender and wealth disparities and achieve universal access to a quality higher education.

Tuberculosis in Nepal: Challenges and Solutions

Introduction

Tuberculosis (TB) is a major public health challenge in Nepal, especially affecting vulnerable groups such as those living in poverty and overcrowded conditions. Despite being preventable and treatable, TB remains a significant cause of illness and death. Stigma and limited healthcare access often deter individuals from seeking timely care, leading to delayed diagnoses and ongoing transmission. Drug-resistant TB further complicates the fight against this disease.

Problems

Key challenges in controlling TB in Nepal include poverty, overcrowded living environments, and inadequate healthcare infrastructure. Stigma around TB prevents many from seeking help, while gaps in public awareness contribute to delayed diagnoses. Drug-resistant TB poses an additional burden, requiring complex and prolonged treatments. Access to healthcare in rural and underserved areas remains a critical barrier, hindering efforts to provide timely screening and treatment.

How HEAL Group Addresses the Problems

The HEAL Group is actively combating TB in Nepal through community-driven initiatives. These include:

  • Awareness Campaigns: HEAL runs community education programs to inform people about TB prevention and treatment.
  • Early Diagnosis: The organization supports TB screening initiatives, ensuring early detection and timely care.
  • Access to Healthcare: HEAL works to improve healthcare access, particularly in underserved areas.
  • Reducing Stigma: Through education and resources, HEAL helps reduce the stigma around TB, encouraging more people to seek and complete treatment.

By tackling these issues, HEAL Group is paving the way for a TB-free Nepal.

Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS in Nepal

Introduction

Understanding HIV/AIDS in Nepal is critical as the disease continues to pose a public health challenge. Current HIV prevalence in Nepal highlights key populations affected by HIV, including marginalized groups, rural communities, and individuals facing socio-economic barriers. Nepal’s national goal for HIV elimination underscores the urgency for comprehensive strategies.

Problems

Effective HIV prevention in Nepal is hindered by stigma and discrimination, limited access to HIV testing and treatment, and socio-economic factors influencing HIV. Tackling stigma and discrimination in HIV remains a priority, as these barriers discourage affected individuals from seeking help. Additionally, improving rural healthcare for HIV and ensuring access to antiretroviral therapy in Nepal are crucial steps.

HEAL Group Addresses These Problems

HEAL Group implements impactful HIV awareness campaigns and community-based interventions for HIV to promote public awareness on HIV prevention. Comprehensive HIV/AIDS education programs are conducted to encourage safer behaviors to prevent HIV and support HIV-affected key populations. By addressing socio-economic challenges and improving healthcare infrastructure, HEAL supports Nepal’s national goal for HIV elimination and works towards reducing stigma and discrimination associated with HIV.
